WW1 Recording

WW1 Recording

WHiST has been working with the Workers Educational Association (WEA) and Durham Records Office in a project to research and share the impact of WW1 on women’s lives in South Tyneside. The image above shows WHiST volunteers recording information gathered during the project at the Arts Centre Washington.

We will also be showcasing the project with the WW1 creative display launched at the AGM next week.

With thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Jo Vietzke – Durham records office, Tracy Gillman – Creative Practitioner Newcastle University and Dr Jude Murphy from the WEA.
