Management
The organisation is managed by an elected committee. Committee members are a mixture of women who live and/or work in South Tyneside. Membership is predominantly made up from project users. They meet monthly and are responsible for ensuring that the work of the organisation is operating to quality standards, is working towards the aims of the organisation, is fulfilling contractual agreements and is addressing local needs. They delegate responsibilities to different staff members and they receive regular reports on all aspects of the progress and achievements of different projects.
Between them the committee members have a broad base of skills, knowledge and experience to draw from.
Current committee members are:
- Jeanette Telfer; local woman and active volunteer.
- Shiela Brown; local woman and active volunteer offering services and support.
- Donna diStefano; local woman and active volunteer offering individual therapies and general support.
- Ann Stewart; local woman, active volunteer within the South Tyneside area.
- Toks Fajemirokun; legally qualified, local woman.
- Norma Richardson; accountancy skills, local woman and active volunteer offering individual therapies.
- Sarah Pascoe; local woman and active volunteer involved in the wider community and offering support generally.
- Teresa Martin; Volunteer counselor and local woman
- Denise Burke; employed locally within the community development and health field
- Ann Hutchinson; experienced as an advocate employed locally as a support worker.
- Linda Parvin; local woman and active volunteer running courses and offering individual support.
- Councilor Eileen Leaske; our Local Authority elected representative she is very active in her ward and offers constructive support to the organisation.
